SPRAGUE, Effie – of Clio, age 77, died Friday, May 11, 2018 at Medilodge of Montrose. Funeral services will be held 1PM Thursday, May 17, 2018 at the O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Clio. Pastor Mike Horn officiating. Burial to follow in Flint Memorial Park. Family will receive visitors at the funeral home on Wednesday from 4PM until 8PM and on Thursday from 12PM until the time of service at 1PM. Memorial contributions may be made to Guiding Light Tabernacle in Burton.
Effie was born October 12, 1940 in Breathitt County, Kentucky to the late Edward and Hazel (Turner) Raleigh. She married Courtland Devon Sprague in 1958. He preceded her in death in 1964. Mrs. Sprague retired from General Motors in 2003 with 27 years seniority and was a member of UAW Local #651. She enjoyed singing, gardening, visiting with friends, and riding her bicycle. She had a beautiful smile and lovely southern accent.
Surviving are: Children: Lawrence Sprague, Robert Sprague, and Deborah Sprague; Grandchildren: Nathanial Sprague, Nichole Sprague, Sheena Strong, and Terence Strong; 6 great grandchildren; Brother, Ed (Rita) Raleigh Jr.; Sisters: Wilma Jean (Gary) Lee, Patricia (Cecil) Dubay, and many nieces and nephews.
