Kribs, Michael A. of Flushing, age 67, died Sunday, March 12, 2017, at his home. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11 a.m. Friday, March 17, 2017, at St. Robert Catholic Church. Fr. Gordon Reigle will officiate. Burial will follow at St. Robert Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be 1-8 p.m. Thursday at Rossell Funeral Home and 10 a.m. Friday at the church until the time of the Mass. A Rosary will be prayed 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to St. Robert Catholic Church or to the family for a special need.
Michael was born in Owosso, Michigan on October 3, 1949, the son of Maurice and Elizabeth (Keyes) Kribs. He married Catherine Chaprnka on April 9, 1989. Michael was a graduate of Corunna High School, Class of 1967 and earned his Bachelor's degree from Central Michigan University in 1971. He was employed by Morrice Public Schools for 38 years and three generations of students, much of that time teaching science. Michael had worked at Odyssey of the Mind and Destination Imagination for many years. He was a hands on teacher who never let a teachable moment pass. Micheal’s passion in his spare time was photography and he enjoyed many opportunities to take pictures. He was a member of St. Robert Catholic Church. In the summer, Michael enjoyed spending time at the family cottage in Lewiston and being the captain on his boat.
Michael is survived by his wife of 27 years, Catherine; daughter, Jamie and husband Ed DeCaria; grandchildren, Elena, Lucia, Yovani of San Mateo, CA; brother, Dan and wife Cheryl Kribs of Owosso; sister, Kathy Kribs of Corunna; aunts, Natalie Kribs of Corunna and Patricia Barnard of Sheraton; sisters-in-law, Marcia and husband Dan Loree of Davisburg; Mary and husband Larry Sheltraw of Linden, Debbie and husband Rick Morris of Linden, Colleen and husband Vlado Salic of Flint; brother-in-law, David and wife Stephie Chaprnka of Greenville; five Godchildren; several nieces, nephews, cousins; and many other loving family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; mother and father-in-law, Pauline and Joseph Chaprnka; brother, Kelly Kribs; and Goddaughter, Jackie Morris. |
