Glenn was born in Duco, KY on November 10, 1927, son of the late Aaron and Lora (Howard) Conley. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army from 1947-1949. Glenn married Annis Arnett in 1951, together they had 4 children; Danny, Johnny, Kenneth and Connie. He migrated to the boomtown of Flint to work in the automotive industry. He found employment at Fisher Body on Saginaw Street where he worked in the repair and paint department. Then later he became a shop committeeman where he was instrumental in getting General Motors to furnish protective clothing to their workers; something they did not do at the time. He received the nickname “Gunsmoke” because of the aggressive approach he took on settling worker’s grievances. After 10 years he decided to put his skills to the test and founded Conley’s Collision in Flint. He instilled to everyone the importance of quality repair and customer satisfaction; a trait that still exists today. Retiring in 1985, Glenn moved to Gulf Shores, Alabama. Not ready to fully retire, he became a sheriff deputy. He was fortunate enough to have had two wonderful women in his life, getting married for a second time to Iris Bowman. Glenn was an avid hunter and gun collector. He loved breeding and raising dogs, especially his beloved Westies. Glenn loved buttermilk, tomato juice and an occasional nip of white lightning! After 12 years, he moved back to his home state of Kentucky where he resided until his 89th birthday. Glenn was a 32nd degree Mason and Shriner. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle in the Shriner parades and loved working the Shrine Circus. He always expressed the importance of the Shriners Hospitals for Children, for all the good they do. Glenn was also active in the VFW and the Fraternal Order of Police.

Glenn will be dearly missed by his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and many friends. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Annis; brother, Richard; son, Kenneth and second wife Iris.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to John’s wife, Tina and Connie’s husband, Fred for their help and support. They would also like to thank the Pines Memory Care of Burton for the exceptional care given to Glenn.
