VANSICKLE, Leona R. – Of Grand Blanc, age 79, died Thursday, October 11, 2012 at her residence.
Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, October 15, 2012 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Pastor Todd A. Biermann officiating.
Burial in Evergreen Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Faith Lutheran Church.
Visitation 1-8pm Sunday and 12 noon Monday until the time of the service at the funeral home.
Leona was born in Clare, Michigan, to the late Joseph and Lana (Battle) Gibis.
She was a member of Faith Lutheran Church.
Leona was a Bookkeeper at Thomas Appliance for 28 years.
Surviving are daughter, Kathy (Dennis) Grubb;
four grandchildren, Jeremy (Glenda) Jackson,
Randall Gottschalk, Jr.,
Trevor Gottschalk and
Chanda VanSickle;
great-grandchildren, Brooklyn, Braydon, Kiera, Jeremy II, Lacie, Kiana, Samantha and Kendellen;
sisters and brothers, Betty Johnson, William (Chris) Gibis, James (Wilma) Gibis and Eloise Gibis.
She was preceded in death by husband, William VanSickle; granddaughter, Miranda Gottschalk; great-grandchild, Brecken and brother-in-law, Harold.
