Joseph J. Gomos Jr. , age 69 of Bancroft passed away Wednesday, April 18, 2012 at Sparrow Health Systems in Lansing.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, April 23, 2012 at 11:00 A.M. at Watkins Brothers Funeral Home, Bancroft Chapel with Rev. Fr. Jeffrey A. Poll officiating. Family will receive friends on Saturday and Sunday from 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. at the funeral home.
Joseph was born on July 30, 1942 in Durand, MI, the son of Joseph and Edna (Tribley)Gomos Sr. He graduated from Durand High School, the Class of 1961. On September 10, 1966 he married Glennis Conrad at St. Mary's in Durand. Joseph worked as a farmer, for GM, Durand Feed and Grain and Unified Industries of Howell. He loved to hunt, fish and do wood working.
He is survived by his wife Glennis, four children' Glenna Jo(Kurt) Tillman of Durand, Joseph (Marcia)Gomos III of San Angelo, TX, Frank Gomos and his significant other Missy Carpenter of Coldwater and Corey (Dave) Bauman of Durand, 12 grandchildren, Abigail, Brittany & Jackson Tillman, Joseph, Christopher, Emily and Olivia Gomos, John, Jacob, and Jessica Gomos, Alexis and Jenna Bauman, sisters Mary Ann(Norm) Williams of Durand, Rosella Klein of Durand and Margie Szakal of Corunna. He was predeceased by his sister Josie Klein, three brother-in-laws and nephew Billy Szakal. Joseph was a Gift Of Life Donor.
