RUSSELL, Mary Elizabeth, age 87, of Grand Blanc, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family. Funeral Services will be at 11am Tuesday, March 3, 2020 with visitation one hour prior at Brown Funeral Home,1480 E Hill Rd, Grand Blanc, Reverend Doug Connelly officiating. Visitation will be held 3:00-8:00pm on Monday at the funeral home. Mary will be laid to rest at Flint Memorial Park, Mt. Morris. Contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 1125 S Linden Rd, Flint. Mary was born in Flint, Michigan on July 24, 1932 and was a proud graduate of Flint Central High School, later attending the St. Louis School of Music. She was a lifetime member of Asbury United Methodist Church where she served as a dedicated organist and pianist for most of those years. She also served as president for the United Methodist Women (UMW). Mary was a loving wife and devoted mother to her 5 children. She also worked as the office manager for the Elf Khurafeh Shrine Circus. She is survived by children: William (Sheila) Russell, Kathryn (Jeffrey) Howe, Ronald (Cynthia) Russell, David (Traci) Russell; son-in-law, Stephen Terkeurst; grandchildren: Lindsey, Kelly, Jessica, Emily, Keith, Scott, Stefanie, Brandon, Kyle, Sandi Lyn, Jacob; and great grandchildren: Alexis, Makayla, Landon, Logan, Tyler, Aria, Adalyn, Naomi, Norah, Nadia, Emma, Jack, and Alec; sister: Lois Bennetts; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 62 years, James; daughter, Gayle Terkeurst; parents, Wm Gordon and Bertha Hand; and sister: Dorothy (Hand) Rittenberg. The family would like to thank the staff at Bella Vita Memory Care and Mid Michigan Home Health and Hospice.
