LOCKWOOD, Ronald Gary - Age 77, of Fenton, passed away Tuesday, November 5, 2019 at his home. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11 AM Saturday November 9 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 600 N. Adelaide Street, Fenton Michigan. Interment at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly. Visitation will be 3-9 PM Friday at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Rd., Fenton. Visitation will be 10 AM until time of mass at the church on Saturday. Those desiring may make contributions to Fenton Area Public Schools Educational Foundation. Ronald was born June 14, 1942 in Detroit, the son of Olene Maude and Raymond Charles Lockwood. He and Patricia were married on January 28, 1967. He served in the US Navy for seven years on the following nuclear powered submarines: James Madison, Trumpetfish and the USS Lapon, where he was Plank Owner. He spent his career in sales, service management, and electrical engineering at Entrekin Computers, Dresser Industries, Eaton Corporation, ITD Automation, and Cooper Tools. He moved to Fenton in 1970 and was actively involved in his community and the Parish of St. John the Evangelist. He served as the St. John Applefest finance chair for 15 years and was a member of the Fenton VFW Post 3243. Surviving are: Patricia, his wife of 52 years; their three children: Heather (Dan) Gundry, Bradley (Laura) Lockwood and Brooke (Steve) Page; their ten grandchildren: Mitchell, Mallory, Alexis, Ryan, Anna, Molly, Thomas, Jack, Ella and Luke; sisters: Susan and Margaret; brothers: Skip, Michael, and Richard; sister-in-law Donna Dupuie; brothers-in-laws: Bob and Dianne Winn, Gary and Janet Winn, Tim and Sandy Winn; many nieces and nephews. Ron devoted his entire life to his wife, children, and grandchildren, spending time traveling up north Michigan, and annual vacations to Disney with the family.
