Maxine Ruth (Plamondon) Swisher of Davison, age 83, died Tuesday May 23, 2017 at Genesys Regional Medical Center. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2:00 pm Wednesday May 31, 2017 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church 404 Dayton St. Davison. Fr. Andrew A. Czajkowski, Celebrant. Rite of Committal will be held at St. John Cemetery at a later date. Family will receive visitors from 4-8 pm Monday and 1-4 pm Tuesday at the funeral home. Maxine will lie in state at the church from 6-8 pm Tuesday with a parish scripture service that evening, and 12:30 until time of Mass on Wednesday. Those desiring may make contributions in Maxine’s memory to St. John Building Fund. Maxine was born in Flint Michigan on May 30, 1933 the daughter of the late Joseph Clifford & Laura Elizabeth (Taylor) Plamondon and has resided in the Davison area for many years. Maxine attended St. Mary’s Catholic School in Flint, and was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Davison. Maxine started Beginning Experience of Genesee County (a ministry for Divorced, Widowed & Single people) in 1987; she was a member and Past Board Member of St. Francis Prayer Center, a member of VFW Post 4087 Ladies Auxiliary and the Daughters of Isabella. Maxine was a long time member and Past Secretary of Genesee County Council on Aging for St. John Church. Her greatest hi-lights in her life were being a member of St. John 50 & Over Club, and was the Coordinator of the 50 & Over Travel Club. She had been employed by General Motors AC Spark Plug Division retiring in 1987. She leaves to cherish her memory children: Anne (Larry) Prevo, Karan Maurina, and David (Judy) Love, also her loving grandchildren: Jamie (Sonya) Prevo, Leanne Prevo, Jeffrey (Kristen) Love, Christopher Hubler and fiancée Ronie, Kara (Shawn) Gatzemeyer, Rachael (Adam) Gagne, and John (Tiffany) Bishop. Maxine also leaves her great grandchildren Shaylyn, Jayden, Jackson, Katelynn, and Samantha. Sister Marilyn (Milton) Tomkinson, Brothers Ronald Rapcka, Sister Judy Plamondon, many nieces, nephews, cousins, and tons of friends who kept her grounded with all of their love. She is preceded in death by son Randy Love, granddaughter Rebecca Love, son-in-law Ronald Bishop, sister Joanne Rapcka, brothers Melvin Plamondon, Kenneth Plamondon, Richard Rapcka, step-father Herman Rapcka, brother-in-law Denny Ringlein, and former husband & friend Pete Swisher.
