Scheitler, Patricia L., age 68, died Thursday, Aug. 27, 2020, at home surrounded by her family after a long battle with cancer. She was born in 1952 to Adelbert “Bud” and Eva Freel in Flint, MI. She married David Sheitler, her husband of 49 years, on Aug. 13, 1971 in Swartz Creek, MI. Her favorite pastime was spending time with family and friends, especially her grandchildren. Patti loved to travel and spend time in their RV, spending winters at Camper’s Holiday, where they have many special friends, and Holiday Shores in the summer. She was always planning a new destination. Her other passion was her landscaping with plants. She loved to show them with pride and explain all about them to many visitors to her home in Durand, where she planned many parties for family and friends. For relaxation, she enjoyed cross stitching. She is survived by her husband, David Scheitler; mother, Eva Freel; children, Heather(Jon) Jones, Andrea(Brad) Davis, and Aaron Scheitler; grandchildren, Tanner Jones, Ava Jones, Kyler Davis, and Carleigh Davis; siblings, Leslie(Paul) Cupal, David(Misty) Freel, Roberta(Rob) Coverdill, Thomas Freel, and Penny(Mark) Adams; and many nieces, nephews, and friends. A small family service was held at her home. A memorial service will be planned at a later date when she is interned in her family plot in Greenwood Cemetery in Vernon, MI.
