Ole Dallas Olsen, age 84, longtime Genesee Co. resident, passed away comfortably at his home with family in Montrose, Colorado on Monday, April 27th.
Ole was born in Flint, Mich to Lawrence and Emma Olsen. As a young man, he moved to Clio and bought his family farm. He was a long time independent carpenter and, with help from family, totally renovated the house and raised four children there. He then hired into General Motors, where he retired in 1995.
He then moved to S. Florida, spent years there enjoying living on the river, fishing, boating and spending time with his son. He eventually moved to Colorado's San Juan mountains, loved his log cabin, the wildlife, his dog and being with his daughter and grandkids for many years.
Ole is survived by his children...Diane(Mike) Downey of Gaines, MI, Brad Olsen of Palm City, Fla, Dana Clarkson of Montrose, Co (w Barbara Weaver Olsen) and Evie Hovie of Sault Ste, MI (w Jean Izzo Olsen), sisters, Patricia(Ted) Himelhoch and Esther(Richard) Wehrli, 19 great and grandchildren and many loving nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother, Emma Green, father, Lawrence Olsen, step father, Fred Green, brother, Lawrence Olsen, sister, Onnalee(Horrice) Conquest and great grandson, Dawson Parker.
He was a private man that loved his family and the outdoors. He had a very full wonderful life! We are so blessed that he died peacefully. He will truly missed....
Due to the current Covid-19 restrictions, a celebration of his life will be scheduled for a later date. |
