Gary E. Bonesteel, 69, of Mayville formerly of Lapeer, died Thursday, November 8, 2012. Gary was born December 20, 1942 in Attica to parents Lloyd and Lucille (Misener) Bonesteel. He married Gloria J. Male on September 19, 1992 in Lapeer.
Mr. Bonesteel ultimately worked at the Grand Blanc Stamping plant in machine repair, retiring in 2006 after over 25 years. He was even a member of the UAW Local 1292. Gary loved sports; especially football and boxing. He truly enjoyed the outdoors; particularly fishing. A few of his hobbies were going to the flea market, Texas hold'em, euchre and wood crafting. Gary was the consummate 'jack-of-all-trades', he would never say no to helping someone out, even working at a hardware in his retirement for fun. He was a practical joker who in the end loved his wife, children and grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife: Gloria J. Bonesteel, children: JoMarie (Bruce) McArthur of Lapeer, Michelle (Tony) Teall of Hale, Gary E. Pearson of White Settlement, TX, Amanda Saunders of Lapeer, Scott (Shannon) Bonesteel of Davison, Kimberly Betts of Lapeer, Laurie (Gary) Harmon of Brown City, Tina Betts of Lapeer, several grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren as well as numerous nieces & nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings: Louie and Jim Bonesteel, Linda Williams and Pat Johnson.
Visitation will be 4-8pm Saturday and 1-4/6-8 Sunday. A funeral service will be held 11:00am Monday, November 12, 2012 at Muir Brothers Funeral Home, Lapeer. Burial will be in Attica Township Cemetery.
