Gerald Edward Baker
Age 89 of Lennon passed away Friday, August 26, 2016 at his home.
Funeral Services will be held 11am Tuesday August 30, 2016 at Nelson-House Funeral Home with Reverend Russell Merrill officiating. Burial will follow at Yerian Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Nelson-House Funeral Home on
Monday August 29 from 1pm to 8pm.
Gerald was born August 19, 1927 in Lennon, the son of Cecil and Maude (Hughes) Baker.
He graduated from Owosso High School; Class of 1945
Gerald was a member of the Lennon Methodist Church, the Lennon Lions Club where he was a charter member.
He married Geraldine Louise Conklin on July 25, 1948 at Easton Church of Christ; she predeceased him on July 27, 2012.
Gerald joined his father at the Baker Insurance Agency in Lennon in 1953, eventually buying the business and then in 1989 he sold the agency to his son William. Gerald not only owned and operated a successful insurance agency he also operated the family farm through the years.
Gerald is survived by his children Suzanne (James) Eymann of Morrice, Jeanne (Dan)Gilbank of Swartz Creek and William (Elaine) Baker of Lennon; grandchildren Linette (Ray) Deick, Kimberly (Dave) O'Berry and Jamie (Randy) Farrow, Jeremy Gilbank, Danielle (Tom) Braid, Michael (Sarah) Baker, John Skodak and Don Skodak; great-grand children Julie O'Berry, Jenna O'Berry, Bruce Farrow, Travis Farrow, Kenzie Braid, Clayton Braid and Louis Baker; sister-in-law Mary Lee Baker; several nieces and nephews and many other loving family and friends.
He was predeceased by his wife Geraldine; his parents; sister Marion Rigoulet and brother Donald Baker
Memorial contributions are suggested to the Lennon Lions Club or to the family.
