Moore, Max B. of Flushing, age 91, passed away Saturday, September 13, 2014, surrounded by the love of his family. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, September 17, 2014, at Flushing Presbyterian Church, 5010 N. McKinley Road, Flushing. Rev. Teresa Peterson will officiate. Burial will follow at Sunset Hills Cemetery. Visitation will be 3-6 p.m. Tuesday at Rossell Funeral Home. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to Flushing Presbyterian Church or the Game and Fish Protection Trust Fund through the Michigan Department of Natural Resources.
Max was born in Lockney, West Virginia on May 5, 1923, the son of Joseph and Bessie (McVaney) Moore. He married Betty Jo Kelley on June 19, 1949, in Grantsville, West Virginia. She preceded him in death on January 16, 2011.
Mr. Moore retired after 30 years at General Motors. He proudly served his country during WWII in the U.S. Navy. He was a member of the Flushing Presbyterian Church, American Legion Post #283, Flushing Lions Club, and the Greater Flint Men's Retirees Club. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, hunting, and boating.
Max is survived by his children, Mitchell and wife Teresa Moore of Flushing, Brenda Jo and husband Daniel Henne of Ann Arbor; grandchildren, Michelle and husband Patrick Hayes, Meredith and husband Corey Nykamp, Philip and wife Lynette Paliani, Alexandra Henne; great-grandchildren, Christian, Braylon, Grace and Nolan Nykamp, Oliver and Isla Hayes, Preston Paliani. |
