Timothy Raymond Messenger, 51, of Burton, tragically died Wednesday April 17, 2019. He was born February 7, 1968 in Flint to parents Larry and Brenda (Hall) Messenger.
Tim held three masters degrees and was working on his PHD. He had retired last year from Flint Public Schools as an elementary teacher of 29-1/2 years. In his free time, Tim enjoyed helping at the Michigan Christian Youth Camp, Attica as well as the Lapeer Church of Christ soup kitchen. He loved organizing estate sales, yard work, flower gardening and fishing. He will be missed.
Mr. Messenger is survived by his parents: Larry & Brenda Messenger of Lapeer, sister: Rhonda (David) Powell of Grant, AL, niece & nephew: Ashley (Jerel) Hunt; Nathan (Amy) Powell, great-niece & nephews: Annie Ruth; Jon Grason; Levi and Finn.
Following Tim’s own wishes, the family has entrusted Muir Brothers Funeral Home, Lapeer with cremation. His memorial service will be 12:00noon Tuesday April 23, 2019 at the Lapeer Church of Christ, 1680 N. Lapeer Rd. 48446, officiated by his brother-in-law David Powell, minister. The family will receive friends and family from 10:00am-12:00pm prior to the service at the church.
