DUNNING, Maxine E. - Of Flint, age 89, died Wednesday, December 28, 2011 at Genesys Hospice Care Center in Goodrich.
Funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, December 31, 2011 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint, Dewayne Whitehead officiating with a military service under the auspices of VFW Post #3087 Honor Guard.
Cremation will take place following the service.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Genesys Hospice Care Center of Goodrich.
Visitation 11 a.m. Saturday until the time of the service.
Maxine was born in Holland Township, Michigan on May 11, 1922, daughter of the late Jesse and Elsie (Byers) Warson. Maxine served her country in the United States Army during World War II. She was a member of the Davison Eagles. Maxine enjoyed bowling and playing shuffle board.
Surviving are daughters, Penny Cairnduff and Linda Whitehead;
grandchildren, Dana, Brian, Eddie, Travis, Donielle and Nichlas;
11 great-grandchildren;
sister, Ruth Fent;
best friend, Phyllis Coleman and Ilene;
and many nieces and nephews.
Maxine was preceded in death by her grandsons, Anthony and Vance Yost, sons-in-law, Ed Whitehead and Bob Cairnduff and twin brother, Max.
