HARDAKER, Mary Lou. – of Clio, age 78, died Saturday, September 15, 2018 at Angel Manor of Clio. Honoring her wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service, in memory of Mary Lou, will be held 11AM Tuesday, September 25, 2018 at Saints Charles and Helena Catholic Church, 230 E. Vienna St., in Clio. Rev. Fr. Kenneth Coughlin officiating. The family will receive visitors at the church on Tuesday from 10AM until the time of service at 11AM. Memorial contributions may be made to the Brain and Behavior Research Foundation.
Mary Lou was born October 15, 1939 in Flint, Michigan to the late John and Mary (Drap) Sabow. She graduated from Sacred Heart High School in 1957 and later attended Mott College and the Health Enrichment Center for Massage Therapy. Mary Lou married Thomas L. Williams and together they had 3 children. He preceded her in death July of 2015. She later married Charles A. Hardaker. Mary Lou was a hairdresser in the Clio area for 30 years, a massage therapist for 7 years, and a medical secretary for 15 years before retiring in 2003. She was a member of Saints Charles and Helena Catholic Church in Clio, and the First Catholic Slovak Ladies Association. Mary Lou was an avid reader. She enjoyed movies, shopping and was very active in dancing, especially tap and jazz. Mary Lou loved spending time with her family and friends.
Surviving are: Daughters: Nicole Schultz, and Cindy (Steve) Chapman; Son, Scott (Julie) Williams; Grandchildren: Kali Martin, Tyler Chapman, Bailey Chapman, Paige Williams, Mackenzie Clontz, Jenna Williams, and Baylie Clontz; 1 great granddaughter, Aurora.
