MORGAN, Bonnie Lou (Liebengood/Gates) - Age 79, of Swartz Creek, died Sunday, April 3, 2011 at home. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Friday, April 8, 2011 at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 402 S. Ballenger, Flint. Pastor Jeffrey Walsh officiating. Burial in Sunset Hills Cemetery, Flint. Visitation will be held at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek Wednesday from 6-9 PM, Thursday from 1-4 and 6-9 PM and at church Friday from 10:00 AM until time of service. Those desiring may make contributions to St. Paul Lutheran Church or charity of your choice. Bonnie was born September 27, 1931 in Flint, the daughter of Walter and Geraldine (Whitehead) Pett. She married Thomas H. Morgan January 23, 1970 in Flint and he preceded her in death October 21, 1995. She had resided in Swartz Creek most of her life. Bonnie held various secretarial and bookkeeping jobs to include: Buick, U.A.W. Local 659, First Federal Bank and John Hancock Insurance. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church and AARP where she was multi site coordinator of the AARP Tax Aid Program. She traveled with the Flint Travel Club and arranged many vacation adventures for friends and family, including an Alaskan and Hawaiian Cruise; in the past year she has traveled 4 times, twice for her grandson's wedding's and twice for vacations. She repeatedly found herself alone to support and parent her children and made due with little. She taught the value of hard work and thrift to her family. Surviving are: 4 children, Kirk and wife Laura Liebengood of Laingsburg, Gail Liebengood of Swartz Creek, Walter Liebengood of Richmond, KY and Frances Gates of Port Jefferson, NY; 4 grandchildren, Krista Empie and Kevin Story of Laingsburg, Kirk Liebengood, Jr. and wife Kristen of Laingsburg, Ryan Liebengood and Holly Pepi of Phoenix, AZ and Eric and wife Brandie Liebengood of Wilder, KY; 3 great grandchildren, Michael Empie, Jacy Empie and Logan Liebengood; 3 step children, Nora Morgan, Timothy Morgan and Michael Morgan; 2 sisters, Carolyn and husband Larry Topham of New Smyrna Beach, FL and Sally and husband Bob MacDermaid of Davison; several nieces and nephews; her constant companion, Lucky.
