LOCKREY, Shirley Ann – of Davison, age 92, went home to be with her Lord on Tuesday, August 11, 2020 surrounded by her loving family. A Funeral Service will be celebrated 12:00 PM Monday, August 17, 2020 at Pilgrim Lutheran Church, 3222 S. Genesee Rd., Burton. Pastor Larry Warsinski will officiate with interment at Flint Memorial Park. The family will receive visitors 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM, Monday at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be considered to Pilgrim Lutheran Church.
Shirley Ann Peterson was born in Flint on October 31, 1927, daughter of the late Roy and Hallie (McBee) Peterson. She married Glen L. Lockrey on July 14, 1951 at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Flint. Glen predeceased Shirley October 13, 2012. Shirley had a very giving heart that was evident by her countless hours of volunteering at St. Joseph’s and Genesys Hospitals as well as with the Red Cross. Faith was one of her most important aspects of life. She was very active at Pilgrim Lutheran church, participating in the choir, the church’s Bible study and LWML. Shirley was incredibly artistic. She was talented and loved to draw, paint and write poetry. Her greatest love was for her family, especially her grandchildren. Shirley was so happy she was able to meet her first great-grandson one month ago.
Shirley is survived by her daughter, Heidi (Gary) Woods; grandchildren, Mitchel Woods and Brianna (Zachary) Rensberry; great-grandson, Evan Rensberry; many nieces and nephews, cousins and friends. In addition to her husband and parents, Shirley was preceded in death by an infant son and two brothers, Jack Peterson and Roy Peterson.
The family would like to express a heartfelt thank you to the Medical Team Hospice and Brookdale Memory Care for their exceptional care of Shirley.
