CONOVER, Dr. McClellan B. “Mac” – Of Fenton, age 70, died Tuesday, December 4, 2018 at his residence.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Monday, December 10, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 600 North Adelaide, Fenton, Father Roy Horning officiating.
Burial in New Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
Those desiring may make contributions to MDA Foundation Mission of Mercy (the Dental Mission of Mercy was very dear to his heart. The foundation caters to people in need), or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
Visitation 2-8 p.m. Sunday at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road. A Rosary will be prayed at 7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Dr. Conover will be at the church from 10 a.m. Monday until the time of the Mass.
McClellan was born in Flint, Michigan on June 22, 1948, the son of Dr. McClellan and Eileen (Hand) Conover.
On December 26, 1970 he married Carol Hresko in Flint.
He attended Eastern, attained a Master of Public Heath from U of M and graduated from Dental School at U of M in 1977.
Dr. Conover was passionate about dentistry; was a past president and member of Genesee District Dental Society, and a member of State Dental Society. He practiced dentistry for 41 years in the area, where many patients became friends.
Dr. Conover was inducted into the American College of Dentistry in 2011.
He was a member of the Hundred Club and St. Joseph Catholic Church, where he was head of the finance council.
He was dedicated to his family.
Dr. Conover loved his grandchildren, traveling, casinos, and attending Michigan football games. He also enjoyed lake living and had lived on the lake most of his life and loved 60’s music.
Surviving are wife, Carol;
children, Amy Conover of Fenton,
Adam and wife Nicole Conover of North Carolina,
Todd Conover and fiancee' Lauren of Rockford,
Megan and husband Andrew Lapish of Chicago;
grandchildren, Adri, Ava, Grace, Sofi and Emery;
sister, Cathy Baker of Milford; brother, Thad and wife Marcia Conover of Fenton and many, many great friends.
