DINNAN, Charles A. – of Montrose, age 76, died on Tuesday, September 8, 2020 at McLaren Flint. Cremation has taken place. Mass of Resurrection will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, October 16, 2020 at Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Montrose. The family will receive visitors from 10:00 AM until time of mass at the church. Inurnment will be at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly.
Charles was born July 15, 1944 in Detroit, Michigan to the late Gary and Doris (Robbins) Dinnan. He graduated from Hill-McCloy High School in Montrose. Charles married Merle L. Franks on March 25, 1983 in Flint. She preceded him in death December 5, 2015. Mr. Dinnan is a U.S. Army Vietnam War Veteran. He was a member of Good Shepherd Catholic Church, was past commander of the VFW Post #6579 in New Lothrop, American Legion Harry Baker Post #367 of Montrose, Knights of Columbus - Good Shepherd Council #8669, and the Polish Legion of American Veterans Auxiliary Chapter 8 of Flint. Charles enjoyed watching the Detroit Tigers. Above all, Charles loved being with family and spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Left to cherish his memory are: Children: Dan Williams (Robyn); Donald Dinnan (Jennifer), and Michael Dinnan; Stepchildren: Anita (Butch) Gamet, John (Cynthia) Sutter, Alissa Nelson, Patricia (Wesley) Ross, and April Kulaszewski; 35 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; Siblings: Carole (Gerald) Fejedelem, Susan (Robert) Jacobs, and Margaret (Adam) Eisele; Former wife, Linda Fromer; Many nieces, nephews, other loving family members and friends. Charles was preceded in death by: Son, Kyle Smith; Stepdaughter, Brenda Moore; Brother, Matthew Dinnan; Sister, Sara Hoard.
