HOEFFGEN, Barbara J. (Cole) DeLorenzo - age 83, died Monday, December 28, 2015 after a courageous 10 month battle with cancer.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated 10:30am Saturday, January 2, 2016
at St. Charles and Helena Catholic Church, 230 East Vienna Street, Clio, Michigan 48420.
Father Ken Coughlin and Father Gary E. McInnis officiating.
Cremation will take place following the service.
Memorials are preferred to the Minnesota State Academy for the Blind.
Visitation 2-7pm Friday at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint. A Scripture Service will be held 7pm Friday evening at the funeral home. Visitation 9:30am Saturday at church until the time of the Mass.
She was proud of being a volunteer for the past 20 years through Genesys Hospice and establishing a scholarship fund for the MN State Academy for the Blind in memory of her granddaughter. She loved being on the go, talking with anyone she met, feeding the birds and bunnies, growing flowers and shopping at Walgreen’s.
She leaves behind her husband, Samuel DeLorenzo;
daughters, Karen McLaren, Nancy (Mike) Mullenhour, Vicky (Bruce) Schleeter;
granddaughters, Stephanie Mullenhour, Jaymie (Craig) Harrison, Marlena (Jamie) Judisch;
and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Max, granddaughter, Danielle and son-in-law, Michael.
