NOFS, Gordon C. – of Flint, age 90, passed away October 23, 2018. Cremation has taken place.
He was born in Port Huron, MI to Paul F. Nofs and Gertrude Nofs, the 6th of 8 children. Gordon married Loretta Rzonca on October 18, 1952 in Columbus, MI. Together they built a home and raised their family of 5 children; Paul S. (Elizabeth) Nofs, Cynthia (John) Valenti, Sally Nofs DVM, Steven (Dawn) Nofs and Mariellen Peto.
They later welcomed 9 grandchildren; Eric (Traci), Clair (Ryan), Charles, Leo, Dean, Dalton, Lindsay, Travis and Sarah; 3 great-grandchildren, Joshua, Alexander, Sebastian.
Gordon was a self-employed tool and die draftsman. He loved solving problems and fixing things! He was very inquisitive about everything. Gordon’s interests included fishing, hunting, gardening and beekeeping. He was a member of the Michigan Nut Growers Association and NAFEX. Gordon perfected a way of grafting trees to get a higher success rate.
Gordon was preceded in death by his son, Paul.
