THWING, James Perry – of Flint, age 55, passed away September 18, 2017. Cremation has taken place and a Memorial Gathering will be held 10 AM - 12 PM Saturday, October 7, 2017 at the Flint Institute of Music, 1025 E. Kearsley St., Flint. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Food Bank of Eastern Michigan.
James was born in Flint, MI on March 6, 1962, son of Ralph and Elva (Pulido) Thwing. He married Jill Lucas on December 4, 1987. James enjoyed raising and working with dogs. He spent time with his wife judging Basset Hound and Beagle field trials. James was a member of the Basset Hound Club of America and two Beagle Clubs. He worked maintenance at the Flint Institute of Music.
James is survived by his wife, Jill; sons, Jason Lucas and Jeremy (Lindsey) Lucas; granddaughters, Chloe and Payton Lucas; mother, Elva Thwing; brother, Robert (Penny) Harper; sister, Maria (Don) Young. He was preceded in death by his father, Ralph.
