BURTON, Sherry Marie – of Elsie, formerly of Mt. Morris, age 65, died Sunday, January 3, 2016, at McLaren of Flint. Cremation has taken place. A celebration of her life will be held on Thursday from 11 AM to 3 PM when a time of sharing will occur. Contributions may be made to the family.
Sherry was born November 9, 1950, in Flint to the late Clyde and Mariza (Skutt) Munsell. She resided in the Mt. Morris area most of her life moving to Elsie in 2009. She married Gary Burton on January 23, 1972. Mrs. Burton was employed for the State of Michigan for 22 years retiring due to health issues in 2010. She enjoyed scrapbooking, crocheting and weekend road trips.
Surviving are: Husband, Gary; Son, Paul (Christy) Burton of Elsie; Daughter-in-law, Heidi Burton of KS; 12 Grandchildren; Siblings: Nita (Jerry) Moody of Mt. Morris, Eugene Munsell of Mt. Morris, Barbara Kellogg of Lake City; Sister-in-law, Muriel Munsell of IN; nieces and nephews; and her 2 fur babies : Shaggy and Snowball. She was also preceded in death by son, Scott Burton; brother, Truman Munsell; and a sister-in-law, Joyce Munsell.
