STURGILL, Grace Virginia - Of Flint, age 82, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, July 20, 2017.
Funeral service will be held 11am Monday, July 24, 2017 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint,
Rev. Jeff Luedtke officiating.
Burial in Evergreen Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the family.
Visitation 3-8pm Sunday at the funeral home.
Grace was born in Putney, Kentucky on September 15, 1934. She married Ray B. Sturgill on January 11, 1952 and lived in the Flint area most of her life. Grace was a devoted and faithful servant of God, loving wife, mother and grandmother. Grace was a member of Davison Church of Christ. She graduated from Beecher High School Adult Education in 1971. She showed her love by giving of herself. Grace volunteered at the Averill Avenue Church of Christ in the Food and Clothing Bank. She sent out thousands of Bibles to people in other countries. Her hobbies were baking and crocheting.
Surviving are children, Ray and Betty Sturgill, Garry and Cindy Sturgill and Michele and John Norris;
grandchildren, Amy and Jeff Luedtke, Lori and Travis Hawk, Michelle Kish, Jason and Autumn Sturgill, Jeff and Chelsea Evans and Joshua Norris;
great-grandchildren, Anna, Bryce Jordan, Allison, Allyssa, Jacob and Cadence;
brother and sister-in-law, Ewing and Edith Cornett;
and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband Ray, parents, sisters and brothers.
