ZANOTTI, Betty C. – Of Flint, age 88, died Monday, November 26, 2012 at MediLodge of Montrose.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday, November 30, 2012 at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, 1227 East Bristol Road, Father Gary L. McInnis officiating.
Burial in Evergreen Cemetery.
Those desiring may make contributions to Holy Redeemer Catholic Church.
Visitation 3-7 p.m. Thursday at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road. A Scripture Service will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Zanotti will be at the church from 10 a.m. Friday until the time of the Mass.
Betty was born in Ahmeek, Michigan on April 6, 1924, the daughter of the late Joseph and Mary Zuvich, and was a resident of Flint most of her life.
She married Anthony "Andy" Zanotti on June 2, 1951 and he preceded her in death on January 4, 2012.
Betty received a Bachelor’s Degree from Eastern Michigan University and a Master's Degree from The University of Michigan. She also took courses to be certified as a Special Education Teacher.
She was a member of Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, where she sang in the choir and member of Our Lady of Fatima Guild. She participated in the CCW and the Daughters of Isabella and was also a member of the American Business Women's Association.
Betty was a teacher in the Atherton School District for 37 1/2 years, retiring in 1985.
Surviving are her granddaughter, Hillary Richardson;
great-grandchildren, Trey and Halle Richardson;
sister, Margaret and husband Larry Korby;
sisters-in-law, Mary Zuvich and Donna Zanotti;
many nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by her son, Jon, in 1991; brother, Joseph Zuvich; two sisters, Harriet Wagner and Anne Cole.
