MANKOWSKI, Jerome John "Jerry" Sr. -- Age 70, of Flushing, died Monday, August 22, 2016. Funeral services will be held 11 AM Saturday August 27 at United in Christ Lutheran Church, 6330 Corunna Rd., Flint. Pastor Steve Stahlhut officiating. Burial at Sunset Hills Cemetery, Flint. Visitation will be held 4-8 PM Friday at the funeral home, and 10 AM until time of service at the church on Saturday. In lieu of flowers those desiring may make contributions to United in Christ Lutheran Church or Charity of Ones Choice.
Jerome was born December 21, 1945 in Gaylord the son of Leon and Agnes (Piasecki) Mankowski. He graduated from St. Mary Catholic School in Gaylord. He resided in Flushing the past 40 years coming from Gaylord. He married Harriet Weburg McCallum January 14, 2006 in Flint and they have been together since 1974. Jerome retired from the Operators Union 324 as a Heavy Equipment Operator. He was an avid hunter and fisherman; and enjoyed spending time at his cabin in Stanwood. He attended church at United in Christ Lutheran Church.
He is survived by his wife, Harriet McCallum- Mankowski; sons, Jeff (Mary) McCallum, Jerome Mankowski Jr, and Paul Mankowski; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; sister, Anna Figiel; brothers, John (Stella) Mankowski and Joe (Beverley) Mankowski; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 daughters, Victoria Kassing and Valerie Goodman; and 8 brothers and sisters. Tributes may be shared on the obituaries page at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com. |
