BOGDEN, Dennis Michael – Of Grand Blanc, age 63, died on Tuesday, October 7, 2014 at his residence.
Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday, November 8, 2014 at St. Mark's Catholic Church 7296 Gale Road, Grand Blanc,
Reverend Michael W. Kuchar officiating, luncheon following.
Those wishing to make donations may address them to Fenton Community Orchestra, Pittsfield Open Band or St. Mark’s Catholic Church.
Visitation 4-8 p.m. Friday, November 7, 2014 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road.
A Scripture Service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Dennis was born on November 26, 1950 in Hazel Park, MI, to Katherine (Schwartz) and Carl Bogden.
He earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering at Lawrence Technological University and also a Master’s Degree in Business from Central Michigan University.
He was Director of Electronics Engineering in the Electronics, Integration and Software at General Motors Powertrain, retiring in August, 2007.
He was an accomplished violinist/fiddler, playing in many orchestras and bands and enjoyed designing robotic vehicles, which he hoped to instill in his grandson, Grey.
For the past several years he taught robotic engineering through Society of Automotive Engineers.
He leaves his wife, Michele (Toni); son, Michael of Grand Blanc, MI; daughter, Meghan (Nate) Shimek of San Anselmo, CA and grandson, Grey;
sisters, Nancy (Tim) Rowe of Las Vegas, NV and Susan (Patrick) Hennessey of Berkley, MI; many nephews and niece; like a surrogate mother, Joan Cameron.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Katherine and Carl Bogden; brother, Thomas Bogden.
