GATZ, Gail Ann – On Thursday, March 24, 2016 left the gentle embrace of her two children and only granddaughter and was welcomed into Heaven by her Jesus, where she was once again reunited with her parents and her husband, Dick.
Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, March 29, 2016 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Pastor Josh Combs officiating.
Visitation 12-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Burial in Sunset Hills Cemetery.
Gail was born on June 6, 1941 in Flint, Michigan to Zean and Pauline Taylor. She graduated from Flint Northern High School in 1959 and loved being a member of the choir. Gail continued with the Flint Community Schools after graduation as a secretary; first at the Administration Building and then at Flint Central High School, where she eventually retired from.
Gail and her husband both trusted Jesus as their savior when founding Pastor of Landmark Baptist Temple, Jim Fisk, shared the gospel with them. They both served Jesus for many years as members of Landmark, where they were part of the bus ministry, children’s ministry, and finally devoting all of their service to the special needs of the church.
Both Gail and her husband were also active in Boy Scouts and served as leaders of Troop/Pack 37 out of Sobey Elementary School in Flint.
Gail leaves behind her son, Rick; daughter, Krissy and granddaughter, Megan to mourn her passing, along with her brother and sister-in-law, Larry and Jean; nephews, John and wife Kim, Jim and wife Marla; niece, Sandy and husband Bud; her 7 great-nieces and nephews.
Gail was preceded in death by her parents, husband and daughter-in-law, Teri.
