Janette "Betty" Story, 95, of Corunna, passed away on Monday, July 16, 2018 at Wildwoods Assisted Living in Corunna. Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 20, 2018 at 11am at the Shiawassee Harvest Church, 322 S. Dutcher St. Corunna. Her son, Pastor Rick Story will officiate with burial to follow at 3pm in Woodlawn Cemetery in Clio. The family will receive friends on Thursday, July 19, 2018 at Watkins Brothers Funeral Homes, Corunna Chapel, from 4-8pm.
Betty was born on March 7, 1923 in Flint, Michigan to the late Edwin S. and Margaret (O'Connor) Vincent. She graduated from Flint Northern High School in the class of 1941 and on July 12, 1941 she married Martin George Story of Flint. Betty spent 28 years working for General Motors, she started in the offices and worked her way up to the supervisor position. Betty cared deeply about people and their wellbeing, she spent many hours in prayer, and loved time with her family. She enjoyed music, singing, and was a great story teller.
Betty is survived by her children; Thomas (Joanne) Story, Pastor Rick (Rena) Story, and Robert (Dorene) Story. Her grandchildren; Diana, Linda (Gerard), Kevin (Krista), Kim (Eric), Daniel (Keri), Anna (Steve), Kate (James), James (Whitney), Robert II, Rachel, Natalie and Nicki. Also, her 21 great-grandchildren, 5 great great-grandchildren, and her brother in-law Paul Story.
She was predeceased by her parents, her husband, Martin George Story on April 11, 2002, as well as her two brothers and three sisters.
Memorial contributions in Betty's name are suggested to the Shiawassee Harvest Church, 322 S. Dutcher St. Corunna, MI. 48817
