BRAYAN, Vera L. - Of Grand Blanc, age 85, passed away Monday, June 20, 2016 at her residence.
Funeral service will be held 11am Wednesday, June 22, 2016 at St. Nicholas Orthodox Church, 2143 South Center Road, Burton,
Father Matthew-Peter Butrie officiating.
Burial in Evergreen Cemetery.
Visitation 2-6pm Tuesday at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint. A Parastas Service will be held 7pm Tuesday evening at the funeral home. Visitation 10am Wednesday at church until the time of the service at the funeral home.
Vera was born in Dyersburg, Tennessee on September 23, 1930. She became the beloved wife of Carl S. Brayan on August 9, 1951 for 65 years. She passed from his loving arms into the loving arms of the Lord on June 20, 2016.
She was also the beloved mother of Jill (Brayan) Sebert and Gregory S. Brayan.
She has three wonderful grandchildren, Michael W. Cleary, Angela M. Cleary and Madeline M. Brayan.
Vera was one of five children. Brother James (Graceanne) Lee, Joan (Stanley) Holland, and Gene Lee. With many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Boss and Flossie Lee and her sister Joyce Ridick.
Vera was a true Southern Belle. To know her was to love her, and she never met a stranger. Vera was a member and Past President of the Genesee County HAM Radio Operators Club for many years. Her handle was AC8T (Extra Class). She was the first known woman in Genesee County to achieve this license.
