TALLIEU, Norma – of Durand, formerly of Houghton Lake, age 88, died Wednesday, August 7, 2024, at Covenant Healthcare of Saginaw. Funeral service will be held at 2PM on Monday, August 12, 2024, at the O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Clio. The family will receive visitors at the funeral home on Sunday, August 11, 2024, from 1PM until 7PM and Monday from 12PM until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make memorial contributions to Genesee County Humane Society.
Norma was born November 5, 1935, in Flint, to the late Clyde and Josephine (Fahrenbach) Tweed. She attended Houghton Lake High School where she received her high school diploma and worked as a secretary at Graff Ford in Flint and Graff Chevrolet in Davison for many years. During her younger years, she was an active member of the Mt. Morris United Methodist Church. Norma was a witty, independent, and free-spirited woman who found joy in visiting the casino, dancing, bowling, and playing cards. She adored her beloved cat, Toby, who she named after one of her favorite musical artists, Toby Keith. Above all, Norma loved her family beyond measure. She will be dearly missed.
Norma is forever remembered by her Children: Steve (Nancy) Zink, Lisa (Larry) Confer, and Paul (Kim) Zink; Grandchildren: Adam (Courtney), Kara, Justin (Maggie), Tamara “TJ” (Travis), Brittany (Kian), Emily (Derek), Jackie (Jason), and Taylor (Lenny); 10 Great-Grandchildren; Sisters: Joyce Avery and Joie (Doug) Whitmore; Beloved Companion, Toby; Several nieces, nephews, extended family, and wonderful friends. Norma was preceded in death by her Parents, Clyde and Josephine; Brother-in-Law, Bob Avery; Nephew, Rob Avery.
