Morton, Helen L. - of Clio, age 95, died Wednesday, August 9, 2017, at her residence. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in memory of Helen at 11 AM, Saturday, August 12, 2017, at Saints Charles & Helena Catholic Church in Clio. Rev. Fr. Kenneth Coughlin officiating. Burial to follow in Montrose Township Cemetery. The family will receive visitors at the O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Clio on Friday from 1-8 PM and at the church on Saturday from 10 AM until the time of mass. Memorial contributions may be made to the Genesee County Humane Society.
Helen was born July 18, 1922, in Flint, Michigan to the late Steve and Bertha (Stucy) Daly. She was a lifelong resident of Clio. Helen married Gerald Morton on October 5, 1945. He preceded her in death on December 30, 2002. She was employed by GM’s Fisher Body Division for 39 years, retiring in 1982. Helen was a longtime member of Saints Charles & Helena Catholic Church. She enjoyed sewing, caring for her dogs, bird watching, and nature. She spent most of her time caring for others and always put everyone ahead of herself.
Surviving are: Son, Gerald (Denise) Morton of Clio; Grandson, Allen (Stacy) Bohn; Granddaughter, Jamie (Bob) Bruce; Great grandchildren: Caden Bohn, Sophia Bruce, and Robert Bruce; Special nephew, Doug Keyes; Special friend, Carol Warner; Helen was also preceded in death by her brother, David Daly, and sisters: Byrde Keyes and Lillian Daly.
