ODGLEN, Gerald W. – Of Swartz Creek, age 91, died Saturday, March 10, 2018 at Caretel Inns of Linden.
Funeral service will be held 2pm Thursday, March 15, 2018 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint.
Burial in Great Lakes National Cemetery.
Visitation 4-8pm Wednesday and 1pm Thursday until the time of the service at the funeral home.
Contributions may be made to St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital.
Gerald was born in Grubbs, Arkansas on December 3, 1926, the son of the late William and Lena (Lewis) Odglen. On December 4, 1947, he married Peggy Jean Ramsey in Newport, Arkansas. Gerald was passionate about golfing and enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Surviving are wife, Peggy Jean;
children, Jerry (Denise) Odglen and Sandy (Fred) Wright;
grandchildren, Chad (Kristen) Steelman, Jennifer Odglen, Wade (Angie) Steelman, Dustin Odglen and Kyle (Holly) Odglen;
11 great-grandchildren;
sister, Jan Combs;
and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Cleamon Odglen.
