LEATZOW, Douglas A. – Of Flint, age 59, died Friday, November 30, 2012 at his home.
Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, December 5, 2012 at St. Paul Lutheran Church 402 South Ballenger Highway, Flint,
Pastor Steven R. Maske officiating.
Burial in Sunset Hills Cemetery.
Those desiring may make contributions to St. Paul Lutheran School.
Visitation 4-8 p.m. Monday and 12-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road.
Mr. Leatzow will be at the church from 12 p.m. Wednesday until the time of the service.
Douglas was born in Flint, Michigan on September 7, 1953, the son of Harley and Joanna (Brege) Leatzow and was a resident of Flint all of his life.
On May 2, 1981 he married Norene Russell.
He graduated from CMU with a Degree in Broadcasting.
Doug was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church. He enjoyed golfing, playing his guitar, reading and had a real zest for life.
Doug was a Youth Specialist for the State of Michigan at W.J. Maxey Boys Training Schools for 30 years.
Surviving are wife, Norene;
sons, Jared and Trevor;
sister, Doreen Jones;
nephews, Matthew (Christina) Jones,
Jeffrey Jones and Angie Beasley;
mother and father-in-law, Lillian and Herschell Russell.
He was also preceded in death by brother-in-law, William Jones.
