Gerald D. Taylor age 82 of Owosso passed away Saturday, May 7, 2016 at Memorial Healthcare with his family by his side.

Funeral services will be held 11 am Saturday, May 14, 2016 at Nelson-House Funeral Home with Pastor Ray Strawser officiating. Burial will follow at Maple River Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 2 to 8 pm.

Gerald was born March 4, 1934 in Fairfield Township, the son of Ruth (Darling) and Paul Taylor. Gerald served in the United States Air Force from 1952 to 1956. He was employed at AC Spark Plug in Flint, Michigan for 27 years.

He married Marie Flynn at St. Paul Catholic Church on December 1, 1956. They were married for 59 years. Gerald loved hunting at the family deer camp in Cheybogan, fishing, and going up north to the campground in Harrison. He also had a love for country music; especially Johnny Cash. He enjoyed playing the banjo, tenor lute and bass guitar as well as writing songs and poems.

Gerald is survived by his wife Marie; children Greg (Dianne) Taylor, Margaret (Mark) Perrin, Brian (Tammy) Taylor and Kathy (Dan) Seconsky; grandchildren Heather (Chris) Throne, Josh (Sara), Brent (Shelbie), Corrie (Jesse Jameson), Noah (Kathy), Markie and Marisa Perrin, Trevor, Brandon and Aaron Taylor, Izzi Seconsky and Hayden (Paige) Wiegel; great-grandchildren Hailey and Taylor Throne, Kylie, Grant, Quinn, Ella, Calvin, Angela and Tristen Perrin and Katelyn and Reagan Jameson; twin brother Harold (Betty), brothers Don (Dorothy) and Duane (Patricia) Taylor; brother-in-law Richard Bramer; sisters-in-law Millie (Frank) Mentus, Janet (Ed) Franks, Patricia Petrauskas, Debra (Gary) Harvey; many nieces, nephews and other loving family members.

He was predeceased by his parents, sister and brother-in-law Dorothy and Robert Monroe, sister Shirley Bramer, brother-in-law Raymond Petrauskas and great niece Lauren Clark.

The family would like to thank their extended family at Memorial Healthcare 5th Floor for the kind and loving care Gerald was given.
