Owen, Lee of Flushing, age 79, died Tuesday, September 16, 2014, at her home. Funeral Mass will be 2:00 p.m. Sunday, September 21, 2014, at St. John Vianney Catholic Church, Fr. Thomas Firestone officiating. Cremation will follow the funeral Mass. Visitation will be from 1-8:00 p.m. Saturday at Rossell Funeral Home and 1-2:00 p.m. Sunday at the church. A Vigil service will be 7:00 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to the Children's Miracle Network.
Lee was born in Standish, Michigan on August 4, 1935, the daughter of Glenn and Lorraine (Savage) Goodroe. She married 1st Lt. David Dooley and he preceded her in death. She later married Niles L. Owen on October 8, 1960 at St. John Vianney Catholic Church. Lee owned and operated Suburban Gift Shop in Flushing. She was a Realtor for Century 21-Woodland for over 20 years, in which she earned many awards and was one of the states top producers for several years. Lee most recently finished her impressive employment resume as the manager of the gift shop at McLaren-Flint. She was instrumental in bringing the Candlewalk to Flushing.
Lee is survived by her husband of 53 years, Niles; children, Kathleen Owen, Leanne Owen-Stewart, Niles and wife Mary Jo Owen, Dan Owen; grandchildren, Katie, Jessica, Alexandria, Niles, Brock, Connor, Spencer, Megan, Daniel, Ruby; three great-grandchildren; siblings, Gene, Lorraine, Eva, Hazel, Kathy, Kay, Mary; dearest friend, Jodi Wonderlee and many nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Tom Goodroe and nephew, Tom Lennerth. |
