RENTSCHLER, Virgil J. – Age 83, of Flushing, died Friday, July 26, 2013 at his home surrounded by his family. Mr. Rentschler was a member of St. John Vianney Catholic Church and was past president of the School Board for Luke M. Powers High School. He served his country with the U.S. Army. Virgil was an insurance agent for State Farm Insurance Company for 33 years. Surviving are his wife of 62 years, Joyce (Mitchell) Rentschler; children, Debra (Rentschler) Bradley, Gwen (Rentchler) Bobeda, Rick Rentschler, Cathy (Rentschler) Agne; grandchildren, Jennifer Mac Arthur, A.J. Mac Arthur, Christopher Bradley, Erin Bradley, Aaron Agne, Noah Agne, Naia Rentschler; great grandchildren, Anabel Bradley and Abigail Bobeda; brother, Gerald Rentschler; sister, Shirley Cahoon. A Memorial Mass will be held 11 a.m. Monday, July 29, 2013 at St. John Vianney Catholic Church with the family receiving friends from 10 a.m. until the time of service. Father Thomas Firestone will officiate. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in his name to the ALS Association, Autism Speaks or Luke M. Powers Catholic High School.
