Patricia Ann Mince

October 2, 1937 – June 20, 2024

Patricia Ann Mince, beloved wife of Bill Mince, departed from this world on June 20, 2024 at the age of 86 to meet her Lord and Savior. Pat was born on October 2, 1937 in Paragould, Arkansas to Robert Frank Weatherly and Ella Ilean Weatherly (Thurman). She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend.

Pat lived a full and vibrant life. She was a devoted wife to Bill Mince for 66 wonderful years. Together they raised three cherished children: Greg, Geoff and Lisa. Pat, along with Bill, were lifelong members of First General Baptist Church in Flint. Together they imparted and nurtured the most important thing to each of their children- a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. As a result, Pat is leaving an incredible legacy behind.

To those who knew Pat, they knew she loved to talk and to know the details of what was going on in people’s lives. She never professed to be the wonderful cook that her mother Ilean was, but meals around the table or at the restaurant were always special. She loved to know what was going on in the lives of her six grandchildren- two engineers, a nurse, an esthetician, a flight attendant, and a graphic designer with enough stories between them all to make her beam with joy. She was the continual prayer warrior for the family, even taking time to pray for the family pets. Pat and Bill would often recall special moments of bowling with friends, vacationing with the kids and grandkids at Walt Disney World, and playing very competitive Uno. She loved word searches, a leaf-free yard and bragging about her family.

Those surviving her will hold tight to the memories she leaves behind and the love that continues to surround them. Pat was a beloved wife to her husband, Bill Mince. She was a caring and loving mother to sons Greg (Marji) of Flushing, MI, and Geoff (Michelle) of Medina, OH, and to daughter Lisa (Mike) Lushin of Grand Blanc, MI. Her grandchildren Haley Mince (Medina), Evan Mince (Rochester), Connor (Megan) Lushin (Kansas City), Sydney Lushin (Chicago), Kelsey Carmien (Bay City), and Jordyn (Seth) Griffin (Flint) filled her heart with joy and her walls with cherished photos. Pat was preceded in death by her parents.

Friends are invited to memorial visitation with the family on Monday, June 24, 2024, from 3pm – 6pm at Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 W Hill Rd in Flint, MI. A private service with family only will take place immediately afterwards. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Alzheimer’s Association (alz.org) in Pat’s honor.

The family wishes to extend their gratitude to both the Nursing team and the Hospice team of Compassus at Ascension Genesys Hospital for their amazing, compassionate care and support of Pat. You all are such special people. Also, a very special thank you to Geriatrician, Dr. Matthew Weiss, whose amazing care and treatment was greatly appreciated.

Pat’s legacy of love, kindness, and humor will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. She will be dearly missed though never forgotten.
