HAWLEY, Archer Lawrence (Larry) – of Clio, age 83, died Tuesday, March 6, 2012 at his residence. A memorial service will be 3 PM Friday, March 9, 2012 at the O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Clio. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday, from 3-9PM and on Friday from 11AM until time of services at 3PM.
Archer was known to family and friends as Larry or Bum. He was born in Flint, Michigan. He dated his loving wife, Ilene (Raby), for three years prior to their marriage on February 21, 1948. They have resided in the same Clio home for 61 of those 64 years. Mr. Hawley owned and operated A.L. Hawley & Sons Painting & Contracting, for over 45 years.
He is survived by his wife, Ilene, and his seven children: Larry (Silvia) Hawley, David Hawley, Linda (Ken) Lee, Diane Smith, Shirley (Sam) Grawey, Brenda May, and Mark “Chip” Hawley: 36 grandchildren; 31 great grandchildren; and 1 great, great grandchild. Larry was preceded in death by: his parents, Alice and Lawson Hawley, his brother, Eugene Hawley, his grandson, Kenneth Albert Smith, III., and his great granddaughter, Sharon Joy Lee.
