Beverly was born in Flint, Michigan on December 12, 1939, the daughter of Carl Davis and Pauline Aquilla (Chipman) Page. Her mother was a trained nurse and devoted mother. Her father, a skilled autoworker, made camshafts throughout WWII and participated in the historic Flint Sitdown Strikes in 1937 that established the closed-shop union.
After the war, they visited family down south, where Beverly and her brother caught the dreaded polio virus. The March of Dimes paid for a hair-raising, low altitude flight through stormy weather to bring them home to Flint for medical care. She and her brother overcame childhood polio thanks to a new idea, physical therapy, and were the first in their family to graduate from high school, at Flint's Mandeville in 1957.
Beverly enriched many lives as a mother, aunt, dancer, librarian and friend. She earned her BA from University of Michigan in 1961 and later two Masters degrees from Wayne State University in Library Science and History.
In 1963, Beverly moved to California and started work in the social services, but a few years later was able to ignite her passion for teaching at a local elementary school. After moving back to Michigan she taught at Carman Ainsworth in Flint, before finding her lasting home at Grand Blanc Community High School where she was the librarian for over 25 years.
On August 13th, 1994, Beverly married Robert (Bob) Earl Budzynski, the perfect partner in love, in swing dancing, and in teaching and organizing dance events. Bob passed away at 86 in October 2021, still an active dancer and choreographer.
Beverly & Bob were an institution. They formed a lifelong dancing partnership, performing around the country and teaching and hosting dance events across Mid-Michigan. Their awards included the American Swing Dance Championship and accolades like their induction into the Walk of Legends, and into Living Legends. Beverly and Bob published a dance magazine “Jitterbug”, and appeared on Club Dance TV. They won two Feather awards for being the best swing dance couple over 50 in the world.
Surviving are her son Paul Page (Rebecca Lee) Bertrand; grandchildren Isabelle Rose and Daniel Alexander; her beloved nephews; her stepsons: James Robert (Marilyn) Budzynski and Robert Earl (Elyce) Budzynski and their loving families; and former husband John Bertrand.
She was preceded in death by her husband Bob and brother Carl Victor Page.
