PALMER, Donna Mae (McMurphy) – of Davison, MI, age 92, passed away Friday, May 17, 2024. Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Donna’s Life will be held on a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association, in Donna’s memory.
Donna was born in Flint, MI on January 28, 1932, daughter of the late John and Hattie (Damon) McMurphy. Donna pursued her passion for beauty and aesthetics, eventually establishing her own salon in Mount Morris, MI, where she touched the lives of countless individuals with her talent and warmth. Her salon wasn't just a place for hair and makeup; it was a sanctuary where clients found solace, laughter, and friendship.
Donna's generosity knew no bounds. She was always ready to lend a listening ear, offer words of encouragement, and extend a helping hand to anyone in need. Her selflessness and caring nature endeared her to all who knew her, and her impact on the community will be felt for generations to come. In 1951, Donna married Robert Palmer, with whom she shared countless cherished memories until his passing in 2012.
Donna will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her. She leaves behind a legacy of kindness, compassion, and unwavering dedication to those she served.
Donna is survived by 4 children, Denise Olds, Lonn Palmer, Jeff (Christy) Palmer and Cary Palmer; 6 grandchildren, Brent (Heather) Stoltenberg, Chad (Nikki) Stoltenberg, Bianca Palmer, Brandon Palmer, Bryston Palmer and Anthony Palmer; 8 great-grandchildren; 2 step-grandchildren, Michael (Rachael) Goff and Michelle Goff; 5 step-great-grandchildren; 3 siblings, Glenn (Sandy) McMurphy, Betty (Allan) Sturgis and Linda (Lou) Carsten; many other loving family members and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Hattie McMurphy; husband, Robert Palmer; son-in-law, Steven Olds and 5 siblings.
