ROYSTER, David J. – Of Flint, age 53, passed away on Monday, February 11, 2013 at his residence.
Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, February 18, 2013 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road.
Burial in Lovedale Cemetery in Burton.
Visitation 1-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Sunday and family hour 10 a.m. Monday until the time of the service at the funeral home.
David was born in Shelby, Mississippi on January 3, 1960 to Henry and Roberta (Keller) Royster.
He was a 1978 graduate of Broad Street High in Shelby, MS.
He served in the United States Army from 1978-1992, tour in Desert Storm. After his Honorable Discharge from the Army he began work at the USPS until the time of passing.
David leaves to cherish his memory, three children, Jay David Royster, Sabrina McNeal and Stephanie Royster;
4 grandchildren, Elijah Royster, Julyan Fields, Patrick McNeal III and Kennedy Royster;
brothers and sisters, Jessie Galleon of Flint,
Julie Bradley of Flint, Henry (Sandra) Royster of Memphis, TN,
Beulah Pitts of Shelby, MS,
Benjamin (Michelle) Royster of Chicago, IL,
Elmira (Jethro) Wilkins of Shelby, MS,
Verdale Hudson of Memphis, TN and Gail (Leslie) Lofton of Miami, FL;
sister-in-law, Sherry Royster of Olive Branch, MS;
former wives, Martina Royster and Gina Stewart;
He was preceded in death by father, Henry Royster; mother, Roberta Royster; brothers, Levi Royster and Eugene “DD” Royster; aunt, Leatrice Cleveland and cousin, Peter Royster.
