Margaret Joanne Quine, Honor, 82, died August 7, 2018. Born May 31, 1936 in Flint, MI the daughter of Dale and Margaret Thompson.
A graduate of Flint Northern High School 1954, she went on to earn a Nursing Degree from Nazareth College. She was a nurse at St Joseph Hospital and later the Director of Nursing at Flint Osteopathic Hospital until she was diagnosed as legally blind requiring her to retire in 1976. Margaret was former president of the Doe’s of Flint Elks BPOE Lodge 222. She was an active e member of FOH Auxiliary and the Women’s Guild of St. Anthony in Ft. Lauderdale, FL.
In 1964, she married Harry R. Quine and they enjoyed 42 years of marriage until his passing January 11, 2006.
Margaret will be remembered by her family and friends for her devotion to her children and grandchildren, her sense of humor, her gift to gab on the phone, her unyielding faith, her unwavering determination in the face of physical difficulties, and her unmatched kindness and love for others.
She is survived by her children Julie K. (Art) Filips of Marysville, MO, Kurt M. (Sherry) Quine of Fenton, MI and Joel R. Quine, formerly of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, currently a resident of Honor, MI along with his dog Marley; Grandchildren Michael Filips and Kelly Filips Grant Quine and Cori Pruch; great grandchild Tahvoe DelVillar; brother Dale (Judy) Thompson of Flushing, MI and brother in law Steve Keswick of Lakewood, CO.
She was also preceded in death by her parents, and sister Myrann Keswick.
Visitation from 5 to 7pm Friday, August 10 at St. Philip Neri Catholic Church, 11411 S. Lacore Rd, Empire, MI 49630 with a vigil service at 7pm. Saturday, August 11 visitation begins 9am until the Mass of a Christian Burial at 11am at St. Philip Neri. Rev. Anthony Cureton and Deacon Rene Hoenscheid will officiate.
