Cross, Erma M. (Dingman) – of Clio, age 93, died Monday, February 13, 2017, at her residence. Funeral services will be held at 11 AM, Friday, February 17, 2017, at the Montrose Family Worship Center. Pastor Bob Leming officiating. Burial to follow Saturday at 1 PM in Chapel Gardens Cemetery in Elwell. The family will receive visitors at the O'Guinn Family Funeral Home in Clio on Thursday from 1-8 PM and at the church on Friday from 10 AM until the time of service at 11 AM. An Eastern Star memorial service will be held at 7 PM, Thursday evening at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Montrose Family Worship Center Food Bank or the Shriners Hospitals for Children.
Erma was born February 24, 1923 in Clio, Michigan to the late George and Jennie (Wheatley) Dingman. She married Charles Cross on February 15, 1946. He preceded her in death on January 10, 1997. Erma retired from AC Spark Plug in 1974 with 33 years of service. She was a member of the Montrose Family Worship Center in Montrose (formerly Christian Faith Church) and was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star – Vienna Chapter 283 in Clio . She also spent several years wintering in Florida with her husband and enjoyed square dancing and shuffleboard.
Surviving are: Son, Richard (Shirley) Cross of Swartz Creek; Daughter, Linda (Tom) Spalla of Clio; Step-children: Beverly (Donald) Taylor of Vernon, Lawrence (Mary) Cross of Tawas, Darlene (Robert) Shepard of Owosso, and Charles (Shirley) Cross of Burton; Grandchildren: Annette (Michael) Tipton of Flushing, Tonya (Chris) Coffin of Fenton, and Matthew Cross of Flint; Several grandchildren, step-grandchildren and great grandchildren; Erma was also preceded in death by 6 sisters and 4 brothers; The family would like to thank the staff at Great Lakes Hospice.
