SPROUSE, James M. – of Flint, age 62, passed away on Wednesday, August 5, 2020 surrounded by his loving family at his home. A Funeral Service will be celebrated 5:00 PM Sunday, August 9, 2020 at Central Baptist Church, 2211 N. Center Road, Flint, MI 48506. Rev. Carl Petty will officiate. Cremation will follow the service. The family will receive visitors from 1:30 PM until the time of service on Sunday at Central Baptist Church.
James was born in Flint on October 28, 1957, son of Marvin and Betty (Ford) Sprouse. He married Marsha Lynn May on July 24, 1975 in Flint. Jim worked at GM Flint Truck and Bus Assembly for 43 years, retiring in December 2019. He was a member of UAW Local 598. Jim was extremely talented in the kitchen. He enjoyed preparing food for family and friends that was visually appealing as well as pleasing to the taste buds! “Jimbo” gave 110% to everything he did. He had a passion for nature, fishing and hunting. Jim was a dedicated family man who will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Jim is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Marsha Sprouse; devoted and loving daughter, Jamie (Erik) Vallance; admiring son, Mitch (Summer) Sprouse; four grandchildren, Cody (Sarah) Sprouse, Halana Vallance, Pricilla Sprouse, Hudson Sprouse; one great-granddaughter, Arabella Sprouse; mother, Betty Kirby; two sisters, Angie Skerjance and Wendy (Tim) Webb; lifelong friend, Tom Knight; and many other loving family and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Marvin Sprouse and one brother, Barry Sprouse.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to Kristine Klagstad and Jim’s brothers at UAW Local 598 for their care, concern and help during this difficult time.
