Karla F. Brown
Age 70, of Tawas City, Michigan, passed away on March 13, 2025. Karla was born in Tawas City, Michigan, on September 11, 1954, to the late Norton and Faye Freel. She was a proud graduate of Tawas Area High School. Following high school, Karla relocated herself to Flint, Michigan, where she remained for the next 35 years. In 2009, she happily retired back to her hometown of Tawas City. Karla married the love of her life, Jerry Brown, on July 30, 1976. The two spent the next 49 years together sharing memories and raising a family. Family was an incredibly important part of Karla’s life. She dedicated her days to being a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Some of Karla’s favorite hobbies included playing the piano, family games, camping, being outdoors, sitting on her porch, reading, and baking. She will be missed dearly by many.
Karla is survived by her loving husband of 49 years, Jerry Brown; children, Amy (Luke) Geenty and Kayla (Steve) Lurvey; grandchild, Austin Johnson; brothers, Jerry Freel and John Freel; and many nieces and nephews. Karla is preceded in death by her parents, Norton and Faye Freel; daughter, Robin Brown; sister, Judy Pfahl; brother, William Freel; and mother-in-law, Peggy Wiseley.
Karla will be laid to rest in Crestwood Memorial Cemetery in Grand Blanc, Michigan, on Wednesday, March 19, 2025, at 12:00 PM. You may leave an online condolence at www.bureshfuneralhomes.com. |
