LONG, Inez (Briody) - Of Flint, age 83, died Sunday, May 1, 2016 at her residence.
Funeral service will be held 1pm Friday, May 6, 2016 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint.
Burial in Flint Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Kidney Foundation of Michigan.
Visitation 1-8pm Thursday and 11am Friday until the time of the service at the funeral home.
Inez was born in Flint on May 24, 1932, the daughter of the late Samuel and Matilda (Kerr) Briody and was a resident of Flint her entire life. On November 12, 1949, she married Robert Long in Bowling Green, Ohio. Inez was employed at Kroger for 10 years.
Surviving are husband, Robert;
children, Betty J. Coon, Lois A. (Danny) Adamson, Donna J. Newsom and significant other, Ken Zintel, Robert E. II (Ann), and John W.;
15 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren;
brothers and sisters, Raymond (Jackie) Briody, Joyce Perro, Betty Satchfield, James (Margo) Briody, Paul (Sue) Briody, Delores (Tom) LeGalley;
She was preceded in death by sisters, Ruby Putnam, Irene McCann and son-in-law, David Newsom.
The family extends a special thanks to all the people who took special care of our mom in the last several years.
