DIEHL, Alice Marie – Of Flint, age 83, died Thursday, January 26, 2017 at Wellbridge of Fenton.
Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, January 31, 2017 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Son, Kevin Diehl officiating.
Burial in Flint Memorial Park.
Those desiring may make contributions to the ALS Foundation.
Visitation 1-4 and 6-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Alice was born in Davison, Michigan on June 10, 1933, the daughter of the late William and Artie (Remington) Whitman and was a resident of the Flint area all of her life.
She was a longtime member of Bethany Baptist Church in Grand Blanc and was a charter member of Davison Free Methodist Church.
Mrs. Diehl was a bus driver for Carman-Ainsworth School District.
Surviving are five children, Kevin (Kathy),
Kim (Wes) Ellis,
Kirk (Melanie),
Kerry (Lisa) and
Kelly (Laurie);
26 grandchildren;
24 great-grandchildren;
two brothers, Clare Whitman and Philip (Pat) Whitman;
daughter-in-law, Beth;
Aunt Mo;
best friend, Joyce Hampton.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert; son, Keith; brothers, Jack and Lee Whitman; sister, Frieda Wooley.
