Marilyn Joann Baird of Flint, age 86, died Monday, July 14, 2014, at home surrounded by family. Marilyn was born October 5, 1927, in Belvidere IL to Herman August and Gladys Mae (Blair) Timm. She attended GMI and was employed by AC Spark Plug in the Personnel Dept; she was one of their first female supervisors. She married James Alan Baird in Flint on February 19, 1949; he predeceased her in 1979. Marilyn was a member of the Industrial Business Girls and the AC Tenormor Club and a volunteer at the Burton Senior Center. She is survived by her twin daughters Jean Karen Baird and Jeanine Sharon Libka (Harold) both of Flint, and her son James Alan Baird and Kelly Craun of Auburn MI and his daughter Ashley Marie Baird of Flint. She is also survived by special friends Bethany MacArthur, Deanna Sagady and Carol Jenkins, Flint. Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents, husband, grandson Ryan Edward Libka, two brothers Harvey and Elmer Timm, and her sister Betty Jean Swaffield. The family would like to thank Dr. Peter Thoms, Dr. Shafi Ahmed and their staff at PMC, and also McLaren Hospice for their care during her illness. Memorial contributions may be made to the Genesee County Humane Society or your favorite charity. Services will not be held.
